Greet Guests With Glitter!

After reading a post on one of my favorite blogs I knew I had to make one of these yarn wreaths! We have bi-monthlyish girls nights and I knew this would be perfect!

Everyone brought some yarn and fun accents... including two of my favorite things, feathers and glitter!

The foam wreaths were ordered in bulk online. We ordered these FloraCraft Styrofoam Wreath: 5-7/8x1-3/16 and in our excitement may not have read the dimensions before ordering (even though it says it right there in the listing) and ended up getting an unexpected size.
***Lesson: read the dimensions!

Luckily a quick trip to Michael's solved the problem and we ended up with something a big bigger.
FloraCraft Styrofoam Wreath: 12x1-1/4 White

This project was super easy but it takes time. You will be doing a whole-lotta wrapping (even on the smaller ones)! This makes it a perfect project with the girls! Add some wine, snacks, and good convo and you don't even realize the time you are spending. If you are doing it on your own put a fun movie in! It doesn't involve a lot of skill or attention just patience!

Some tips we came up with as we wrapped...
  • Use a dot of hot glue for the end of one color and start of a new one.
  • Use lots of color and randomness, don't try to make it perfect!
  • Be creative!
  • Use embellishments!

Here are my finished wreaths one mini-St. Pat's wreath and one for our front door year round!
