Old Secrets

None of the secrets on PostSecret really spoke to me this week... that pretty much never happens! But fortunately I save my favorite secrets so I figured I could share one of those!

As you might have learned last week I have a giant scar. I also have some smaller scars from other surgeries. There was a time I was more secretive about my scars and didn't want my arthritis to be a defining part of who I was. I wouldn't say I was ashamed but I definitely wasn't proud and open about it. I am trying to become more accepting of every aspect of who I am, even the painful parts.

I think everyone has scars though not necessarily physical scars. This secret is from September 2010, I hope whoever sent in this secret has let go of the shame and learned to embrace the good and bad parts of their life.
