Wordless Wednesday: Victory Edition!

Matt made "Blackhawk" Muffins to bring into work to celebrate the Stanley Cup victory. I asked very nicely if he would make me some for work too and he did... so sweet!
What is a Blackhawk muffin you ask? Well I can't give you his super secret blueberry muffin recipe (mostly because I don't even know it) but I can tell you my brilliant idea was to replace the blueberries with blackberries and raspberries (red and black)! I am brilliant! So thank you to the Blackhawks for this deliciousness!

As I was driving into work with my muffins secured in the seat next to me I found I had even more to celebrate! The Supreme Court ruled the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional which is a big win for equality in America!

When we got married (almost 2 years ago, wow) we wrote our own Prayers of the Faithful and included this prayer:
"For all those who have found love like Matt and Meghan that they may be able to share that love openly, Let us pray.
For the eradication of the "isms" that keep people apart, Let us pray."

It makes me so happy to know that we are a step closer to celebrating love in all its form. While I know we will never eradicate hate completely we are at least on the right path.

I want to end this post with an amazing song that is so appropriate for today!

What does today mean to you?

  3. Love the muffins! I am glad your team won. Well, not really, as I was rooting for Boston, lol, but I'm gracious when my team doesn't win!
