Memorial Day Madness

Where did all the time go?!?! Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, pools are opening, schools are closing... wasn't it just Easter?

Since summer is here (sorta, the weather in STL has been so strange) it is time to dust off those swimsuits and sunglasses! We have a pretty exciting Memorial Day planned and even though it is only Thursday today has felt like Friday, I can't wait for the weekend! We will be spending our memorial day weekend boating and barbecuing, how fun!

I made a list of some memorial day essentials. With pools opening I think you will find these items will be useful all summer long!

1. How adorable is this waterproof bag? Use it to throw wet suits and towels in after a long day at the pool (or beach if you are so lucky)!

2. This waterproof iPhone case by Overboard USA is perfect if you plan to spend time out on a boat or even just poolside! They make cases for all sorts of phones and other gadgets.

3. Cute sunglasses... need I say more!

4. A light scarf in a bold summery print is great if the weather is still a bit confused like ours is. You can use it as a cover up if there is a breeze or if you need some coverage when you get out of the pool!

5. OMG, I could write an entire post about the Tervis brand of products. You have probably seen their tumblers but did you know they also make water bottles  I am OBSESSED with all things Tervis. I love that they keep my drinks hot or cold forever! I have two water bottles and they go EVERYWHERE with me! You can find all sorts of styles at Bed, Bath, and Beyond but I found this colorful Tervis 24 oz. Mosaic Elephant Water Bottle on Amazon!

6. Of course a fun bag to carry all your necessities in is a must, and one of my favorite warm-weather activities is bicycling so this is perfect!

7. This might seem like an odd addition but let me tell you a little story... my bff that we are boating with was also maid-of-honor at my wedding. She spent the majority of my reception in the ER because she had an allergic reaction to our hazelnut-chocolate cake (sorry Katie!). Luckily, a guest had Benadryl and Katie was able to make it back in time to shake it up on the dance floor with me at the very end of the night!

8. These band-aids are perfect because if there is a band-aid warrenting emergency they remind you to stay calm and the cheery colors might even make you smile! (Also I always get blisters so I have band-aids on me at all times!)

9. This might be the most essential item on my list of essentials. Avon Skin-So-Soft has been a safe way to combat bugs for years (decades?)... adding SPF 30 makes it an even more perfect product. You can save room in your bag because you don't have to carry sunscreen and bug spray! This particular formula has a nice light scent too so you don't repel humans too!
